Dog registration
Persons who keep dogs as pets must comply with the following rules.
■Rules for keeping dogs
(1)Dogs need to be registered if it is 91 days of age or older
(2)Dogs need to be registered only once during the dog’s lifetime. However, dog owners must report their dogs’ registration when they move to a new municipality.
(3)Annual rabies vaccinations are mandatory for all dogs.
(4)Deaths of pet dogs must also be reported.
Dog owners must clean up after their dogs.
○What should people do when they move overseas and can not take their pet dog with them?
They should try to find a new home for their dogs. If this proves impossible, they should contact the Aichi Prefecture Animal Protection Center (0565-58-2323) or the Environment Department in the town office.
